Paper Plate Pachinko Mazes

Come design a hand-held musical maze. What sounds will your maze make? What loops, turns and obstacles will you create? In this project journey you will use a conductive marble to complete simple circuity connections on stacked paper plates that are hooked up to a Makey Makey device and a computer running Scratch. This maker project highlights the importance of iterative design and problem solving. Use your marbles and get your creative juices rolling in this playful exploration!

Make-HER workshops are open to girls aged 8 - 12 and their mothers (or other adult female mentors). Our #LadyMaker educators have designed content specifically for this age group. Therefore the workshops are not appropriate for those under age eight, please no younger siblings. You may cancel up to 48 hours in advance through this site. Those who do not show without cancellation will be prevented from registering for subsequent Make-HER workshops.

Each workshop requires a separate registration. Each registration reserves spots for both you and your daughter. If you have more than one daughter aged 8-12, please complete only ONE registration, put both daughters' first names in the name field, and list the younger daughter's age when asked. Please do not register friends for this mother/daughter program.
